A Place To Call Home
One of the first places that you need to check for a "Home" on the web is your ISP. This is more then likely the place you pay each month for your connection to the net. Many will allow you a
small amount of free space for you new home. Ask!
In this case you may need a few tools (software) on your computer. One; you will need some kind of a software program that will allow you to write HTML code. There are some programs now that
will write the code for you with just a little input. Some require that you do a little of the work yourself .... Look around and try things out and you'll soon find out what works for you. My
choice is 1st Page 2000 a free HTML editor. I like free ;-) . 1st Page all so comes with a File Transfer program, (FTP) (the second peace of
software you will need) which you will need to up load your files if you use a HTML Editor. There are many free ones. Just type in "Free FTP" in a search to see what you come up with.
To get a WEB HOME up and going will take alittle work and alot of time, if this is your first try. However you will learn alot and enjoy hours of web fun! If this is not your first time at WEB
HOME MAKING and you are looking for a old pro, you are at the wrong place, cause I am still a newbie at this!
One other program that I have play with this time is A GRAPHIC PROGRAM by the name of JASC PAINT SHOP PRO it is a shareware program that you can try for free. I
have had hours of fun out of it and learn a bit too. Most of the backgrounds and other graphic on my page I did with Paint Shop Pro.
If you would just like to get a page up and going with as little work as possible then go to one of the site below. You will still have to take the time to do a little reading. The sites listed below mostly have there own tools that allow you to build your site on line.
