OUR MISSION
Blackwater Baptist Church #1 is a missionary baptist church. Our
mission is to reach the lost, see them saved and teach them to be
productive witnesses for Jesus Christ.
Every person is warmly welcomed to join us in worship. We like for all
who attend to feel free to worship however the Spirit of GOD leads, be
it shouting, singing, raising your hands in praise, testifying or
merely sitting quietly letting the Spirit of the Lord fill your
thankful heart.
We believe the Spirit ministers through singing as well as through the
preached word. We have a very talented pianist and guitarist.
Children of all ages are very welcome at our church. We have a dynamic
Sunday school program led by teachers who are concerned about our
children. They make Sunday school a fun, hands on learning experience.
Wednesday evenings is our mid-week Bible study. The adults are lead in
an in depth study of God's Word. Each person is welcome to participate
in discussions and to ask questions through out the service if they
wish. On Wednesdays our youth and younger children also meet at that
same time for Bible Study, activities (and snacks!) Our children will
tell you "church is a fun place to be".
Thursday evenings is our new Christian bible study. This study is
aimed at teaching persons who are new in their walk with God the right
paths to take; to build them up in their faith and understanding. The
study is led by our pastor.
The men and women of our church have each committed a Friday night
each month as a time to gather for fellowship, prayer, and visitation
in the community. And also to work on worship projects.
Every human being has a different past. We all have problems. One
thing you need to know when you visit Blackwater Baptist Church #1 is
that no one within this church is perfect. You don't have to have it
all together to attend. Just come with a heart open to what God wants
to show you, but come with a willingness to respond to the direction
God leads you. You can never fully experience the blessings God
intends until you're wiling to acknowledge your own shortcomings and
sins, confess them to God, and begin a personal relationship with Him.
When you visit Blackwater you will be greeted with a handshake and a
smile. And you'll be greeted with a great big "Howdy!" before each
service.
